Mohawk publishes Sense and Sustainability and new Eco*Guide

Mohawk Fine Papers has published two sustainability-related pieces: a reissue of its print buyer’s guide, Sense and Sustainability, and a new Eco*Guide.

First published in 2005, Sense and Sensibility contains practical information about responsible paper-making and sustainable energy, how to make responsible paper choices, and how to calculate the environmental impact of your project. Updates reflect recent advances in the industry and expansions in Mohawk’s line of environmental papers.

The Eco*Guide offers a simple at-a-glance look at Mohawk’s offerings, quickly showing which papers are FSC-certified, Green Seal-certified, made with windpower, or made carbon neutral. Percentage of post-consumer waste (PCW) is also highlighted.

Mohawk recently worked with me on a new project about sustainability called LANDFILL. The premiere issue launched on the first day of Spring (3/20/09) and printed copies mail this week. We hope to publish once a year—highlighting different processes and products in sustainable printing. The first issue, "Second Chance", about 100% PCW is available here:
